Three gentlemen set up a rodeo on the west side of Leola during the 1972 "Rhubarb Festival" celebration. It was such a great success that it inspired a group of men to form a horse club. The first meeting to organize a club was held on July 15, 1973. They sponsor the annual event Rumble On The Prairie held in August. They also have roping, rodeo events and trail riding events throughout the year.
