The Leola Development Corporation (beginning in 1963-1973 and then brought back to life in 1976) joined with the Leola Community Advancement Committee (formed in the spring of 2005) on August 20, 2007. The reason they joined was that both organizations were working on the same projects and involved many of the same individuals. Both groups would still remain in operations but have the same set of directors and same minutes. The goal of LCAC/LDC is to continue to improve Leola, making it a better place to live.
