    Girl Scouting is alive and well in Leola.  Leola belongs to the newly organized Dakota Horizons Council.  Currently there are two troops; Brownie and Junior Scouts.  Every other year the younger girls attend the Laura Ingles Wilder fun day and pageant in DeSmet, SD.  The girls earn badges at their by-monthly meetings.  The whole group sells cookies every year.
